Set in a prize location at 1873 Logan Road, Mt Gravatt Bowls Club began in 1950, operating out of a shed but a vigorous membership ensured it developed into the modern airconditioned premises it is today, with its star features Brisbane's only undercover bowling green and a beautiful parquetry dancing floor. The Club offers a great mix of lawn bowls fixtures and barefoot bowls and hosts some of the city's top musical acts and regular dance nights. The club has a large bar, a gaming room and a function room.
 
Tuesday night is Corporate Bowls night. Local businesses and social groups nominate teams to play in an eight-week competition, from 6pm-7.30pm, followed by a sausage sizzle. The winning team takes the trophy until next season.

Groove on down in style on the club's beautiful parquetry dance floor on Wednesday and Friday nights with the foxtrots, tangos, waltzes and traditional dances of 60/40 on Wednesday nights . A great night out for the very modest $10 cover charge. There's free coaching for Barefoot Bowls which is played on Friday afternoon from 1pm and evening from 6pm, Saturday evening from 6pm and Sunday afternoon from noon. Cost is $14 on the undercover green or $12 on the lawn. Ring Jeff or Rita on 3219 3388 for more information.

Social Bowls is a great alternative Friday and Saturday night or Sunday afternoon outing. Gather up the gang and have a meal at the club or organise a barbecue, and don't worry if it's raining, play undercover. To book, phone 3219 3388.
